A LITTLE BACKGROUND
Hi there, and welcome, I'm Jo, artist and owner of Ellen Blackwood Studios. For years I channelled my artistic passion servicing clients around the UK through my furniture artistry and interiors businesses, however, after the sad loss of my mother in 2023 everything changed.
Having promised mum that I would take care of my father, her husband of 60 years, my life was split in two, spending weekdays with dad, only returning home to my family at weekends. My furniture artistry business became a casualty of the situation and my creativity flailed for a couple of years . . .
but not for ever.
Needing a creative channel to accommodate my new lifestyle I turned to my roots, having studied art throughout my teenage years, setting up two studios, one at my father's, the other at home, dedicating both to my wonderfully creative late mother . . .
and her name was Ellen Blackwood.
Framing & Finishing
The importance of those finishing touches . . . artwork painted on canvas boards are framed Cassetta style in St Ives frames, stretch and deep edge canvases in float tray frames. Finished in black, white or a waxed natural wood, carefully chosen to best enhance each individual piece.
Each piece has a certificate of authenticity affixed to the reverse, guaranteeing your purchase is genuine and unique.
Preparation & Shipping
Once a purchase has been made the frame will be ordered, therefore please allow two weeks for your purchase to be dispatched.
Shipping within the UK is complimentary, working with couriers such as DHL, Federal Express, Parcelforce we currently ship internationally to to Zones 1, 2 & 3 (Central and Eastern Europe & Nordic countries), and North America. If you live outside of these areas please contact us for shipping quotes prior to purchase.
